Product Design<\/h1>\n

Purpose<\/h3>\n

A product has to be useful, offer no compromises, maintain a level of aesthetic quality, should stand the test of time, and should make a difference.<\/p>\n

Quality<\/h3>\n

Product design is something which requires a lot of attention to detail. Not only do products require a visual form to support their purpose, the way it communicates itself and its functionalities are equally vital. With product design, attention is in the details.<\/p>\n

Experience<\/h3>\n

Based on the knowledge and skills educated by the Department of Industrial Design founded at the University of Technology Eindhoven, this expertise was further explored while working at the Ministerie van Nieuwe Dingen (Ministry of New Things).<\/p>\n

Examples<\/h3>\n

Examples of product design include: fluDOC<\/a>, Afterlife Artifact<\/a>, Ferrofluid<\/a>, and Miko<\/a>.

Graphic Design<\/h1>\n

Purpose<\/h3>\n

Whether it is a corporate logo, a business card<\/a>, an infographic<\/a>, or any graphical element for that matter; they all need exquisite attention to detail, specified to your style and liking.<\/p>\n

Quality<\/h3>\n

The amount of detail going in to these graphics depends on the desired level of thoroughness for the job. Some take little time, some are tailored to the specific needs of the client or job at hand. Just zoom in to the scrupulousness of my business card<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Experience<\/h3>\n

The current overdose of today’s graphic design quickly resulted in a preference towards minimalism. For the last five years this has been explored through various assignments and jobs, honing the tools such as Adobe Illustrator.<\/p>\n

Examples of graphic design and illustration include: the Twitter Infographic<\/a>, my personal Business Card<\/a>, Free-Man<\/a>, and FRAAI Magazine<\/a>.

Interaction Design<\/h1>\n

Purpose<\/h3>\n

Over the course of the last couple of years the importance of form and design grew. Right now there is a growing focus on interaction design. People interact with products every day, and this interaction needs to be fluent, aesthetic, and above all, comprehensible.<\/p>\n

Quality<\/h3>\n

Interaction design requires an insight in the psyche of the user. Interfaces should adapted to the people using them. Adding more complexity to the interaction, should never result in a more complicated interface. For that reason, qualitative insight and research is needed.<\/p>\n

Experience<\/h3>\n

In being confronted with people every day, all day, creating awareness needs little exploration. Again, based on the knowledge and skills educated by the Department of Industrial Design founded at the University of Technology Eindhoven, this skills was honed through various projects and constant usage of a myriad of interfaces.<\/p>\n

Examples of interaction design include: Chroma<\/a>, fluDOC<\/a>, DoorM<\/a>, Afterlife Artifact<\/a>, and Ferrofluid<\/a>.

High Quality Prototyping<\/h1>\n

Purpose<\/h3>\n

A sketch or 3D render are often not enough. Sometimes you just want to hold something. Therefor I focus on high quality prototypes to do the talking.<\/p>\n

Quality<\/h3>\n

The quality and style of these prototypes depends on their purpose and the message they are trying to convey. They range from simple experience prototypes to form and shape models to full-fledged working designs.<\/p>\n

Experience<\/h3>\n

I have a background in working hands-on with a broad range of materials including wood, metal and glass. Also, I have a broad range of tools to my disposal: including a lathe, welding equipment and all the necessary woodworking tools.<\/p>\n

Radical Innovation<\/h1>\n

Purpose<\/h3>\n

Everything is changing at a rapid pace. By the time a product comes out, it is already outdated. The focus should be on radical innovation. This level of innovation relies less on evolution, and more on revolution. With truly new products, new markets will be created, resulting in more of an impact.<\/p>\n

Quality<\/h3>\n

The caliber of such work is measured by its peers. And these peers do not always come from the same corner. Sometimes there is little available comparison. Nonetheless, great work requires great attention to detail.<\/p>\n

Experience<\/h3>\n

In finding the right direction for such work, a lot of background research has to be done. Not just once, but constantly; keeping up with the latest technological trends and developments. With such information, opportunities are bound to present itself.<\/p>\n
